Privacy Policy and terms of use

Effective date: October 22, 2026 · Version: 1.0

WAIT ("WAIT, Where Are YOU in This?") is a companion app to Dr. Lee R. Long's book and workbook. This policy explains:

  • what personal information we collect through the WAIT apps for iOS and Android, the WAIT web app and our website (together, the "Service");

  • why we collect it, who receives it and how long we keep it;

  • the choices and rights you have.

If you live in Washington, Nevada or Connecticut, please also read our separate Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.

Privacy at a glance

  • Your writing is encrypted on your device. Your reflections and weekly thread entries are encrypted before they are uploaded.

  • WAIT is not "zero-knowledge." We keep a protected recovery copy of your encryption key, so a forgotten password or a new phone doesn't cost you your writing.

    • This means we are technically able to decrypt your writing.

    • We commit not to, except in the narrow cases in Section 4.

  • Your ratings, scores, exercise choices and progress are not encrypted with your personal key. They are stored on our servers so the app can calculate and sync your results. We treat them, and everything else you enter, as sensitive health-related information.

  • We never sell your information. We don't show ads, and we don't use your information to train AI models.

  • Optional things are off until you turn them on: usage analytics ("Help improve WAIT") and group statistics about scores.

  • You can export, withdraw consent, or delete your account from inside the app.

  • WAIT is a self-reflection tool, not therapy or a medical service. See our Terms of Use.

1. Who we are and how to contact us

Who we are. The Service is provided by Dr. Lee Long LLC, a Texas limited liability company, 2421 West 7th Street, Fort Worth, TX 76107, United States ("we", "us"). Our representative (manager) is Lee Long.

Our role. We are responsible for your personal information. Under the law, we are its "controller", "business" or "regulated entity".

How to reach us:

  • Privacy questions, requests and complaints: info@drleelong.com

  • Post: the address above

  • Person in charge of the protection of personal information (including for Quebec): Lee Long, Manager, at the email above

2. What we collect

2.1 Information you give us

Account information

  • What it covers: your email address and password, your subscription tier and your privacy choices (for example whether you turned on analytics or group statistics).

  • Your password is handled by our authentication provider and stored only as a secure hash.

Writing

  • What it covers: the reflections you write in each chapter and your weekly one-sentence "thread" entries.

  • How it's protected: encrypted on your device (see Section 4).

Assessment data

  • What it covers:

    • your 1–5 ratings of statements about your inner life;

    • the scores and profiles calculated from them (Comprehension, Blocker and Application profiles, and your Gap);

    • your retakes over time.

  • How it's protected: not encrypted with your personal key.

Exercise responses

  • What it covers: your choices in sorting, selection and counting exercises, and short items you type into a sorting exercise.

  • How it's protected: not encrypted with your personal key. [After LC-D: typed items are encrypted.]

Progress

  • What it covers: which chapters and parts you have completed and when.

  • How it's protected: not encrypted with your personal key.

Communications

  • What it covers: messages you send us.

Writing, Assessment data, exercise responses and progress can reveal information about your emotional wellbeing. We treat all of it as sensitive personal information: under the law, "health data", "consumer health data" or "special category data".

Stays on your device. Your reminder day and time and your reading position are kept only on your device.

2.2 Information collected automatically

Crash and error reports (Sentry). If the app crashes or hits an error, we receive:

  • the error and a technical log;

  • device model, operating system and app version;

  • your account ID, so we can help you if you contact us.

We configure these reports so that they do not include your Writing, answers, exercise responses, email address, IP address, screen recordings, or the names of the chapters or screens you were using. [LC-B]

Technical data. When the app connects, our hosting, authentication and app-update providers process:

  • your IP address;

  • device and app information;

  • an installation identifier.

They use this to deliver the Service and app updates, keep it secure and prevent abuse.

On your device. The app stores the following on your device:

  • your account session;

  • your encryption key;

  • your workbook data;

  • an installation identifier;

  • your settings.

It needs these to work offline and to sync. See Section 4 ("On your devices").

Only if you turn on "Help improve WAIT" (off by default). We collect usage information:

  • in our own database: a short list of in-app events, for example "chapter started", "chapter completed", "toolkit opened", "notification opened" and "subscription event", with identifiers and counts only;

  • through PostHog: the screens you view; app opens and closes; device type, operating system, language and time zone; app version; and performance measurements such as start-up and sync times.

This usage information never includes your Writing, answers or exercise responses. Turn it off at any time in Settings → Your privacy. [LC-A]

2.3 Information from or sent to app stores

If you subscribe, Apple or Google sends us your purchase and subscription status: product, dates, renewal, cancellation and refund status, and the store transaction ID. We send them your WAIT account ID so the purchase is linked to your account. We never receive your card or bank details.

2.4 What we don't collect

We don't collect:

  • your contacts or photos;

  • your precise location;

  • data from other health apps (such as Apple Health);

  • advertising identifiers;

  • biometric data.

We don't use advertising cookies or cross-site trackers. The web app uses your browser's local storage for the items listed under "On your device", and for analytics only if you turn analytics on.

3. How and why we use your information

Before you begin the workbook, we ask for your explicit consent to process your Writing, Assessment data, exercise responses and progress for the purposes below. You can refuse, but the workbook can't work without this information. You can withdraw consent later without losing your account (Section 8).

  • Create and secure your account, sign you in and reset your password. Uses account information and technical data. Basis: performing our contract with you.

  • Encrypt, store, sync and restore your workbook across your devices. Uses Writing (encrypted), Assessment data, exercise responses and progress. Basis: your explicit consent and performing our contract.

  • Calculate and show your scores and changes over time. Uses Assessment data and exercise responses. Basis: your explicit consent and performing our contract.

  • Show the weekly reminders you choose (scheduled on your device). Uses reminder settings. Basis: your consent.

  • Process subscriptions and give access to paid content. Uses purchase information and your account ID. Basis: performing our contract.

  • Keep the Service working, fix crashes and secure it against abuse. Uses crash reports and technical data, which exclude your sensitive information. Basis: our legitimate interest in a reliable, secure Service.

  • Optional: understand how WAIT is used so we can improve it. Uses usage information (Section 2.2). Basis: your explicit consent ("Help improve WAIT").

  • Optional: group statistics about scores. Uses your scores. Basis: your explicit consent (see below).

  • Answer your messages and provide support. Uses communications and account information. Basis: performing our contract and our legitimate interests.

  • Meet legal obligations, enforce our Terms, and establish or defend legal claims. Uses relevant information. Basis: legal obligation and our legitimate interests.

Group statistics about scores. This only happens if you turn on "Include my scores in group statistics" (off by default). If you do:

  • your scores may be combined with other consenting users' scores into statistics such as averages and spreads, for groups of at least 8 people;

  • we use these statistics only internally, to understand and improve the workbook, and we do not publish them;

  • we design them so that no individual can be identified, and they never include Writing;

  • you can turn this off at any time. Your scores will then be left out of new statistics.

If we ever want to use statistics for published research, or to offer WAIT through an organization that would see group statistics, we will ask for your separate consent first.

Your scores are for you. They are calculated to support your own reflection. We don't use them to make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects, and they are not a diagnosis.

Some laws (for example Quebec's) treat calculating scores about your wellbeing as "profiling." This is the core function you ask WAIT to perform. It is never used for advertising or to make decisions about you.

Things we never do:

  • sell, rent or trade personal information;

  • "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it for targeted advertising;

  • use your information to train large language models or other AI or machine-learning models.

If we ever add AI features, we will describe them here first and use them only with your explicit permission.

Marketing emails. We send these, for example news about Dr. Long's books, only if you opt in. Every one has an unsubscribe link. Service emails, such as password resets and important notices, are not marketing.

4. Encryption, recovery, and who can read your Writing

What is encrypted. The app encrypts your Writing on your device with a key unique to your account (AES-256-GCM) before uploading it. Our database stores the encrypted text.

What we can still see. We can see which prompts you have written in, when, and roughly how much, but not what you wrote.

How recovery works. We keep a recovery copy of your key, itself encrypted twice:

  1. Under a server secret used by a restricted server function. The function returns your key to the app when you sign in on a new device or after a password reset.

  2. Under a separate emergency ("break-glass") key held by our system administrator. We use it only to repair the recovery system if the server secret is lost. [After LC-L: "kept offline."]

What this means for you:

  • WAIT is not end-to-end encrypted in the strict sense. We are technically able to decrypt your Writing.

  • Our database provider hosts both the encrypted recovery copy and the server function that can unlock it. So this design protects your Writing against, for example, a leak of our database. It is not a guarantee against access by us, by our provider, or by authorities able to compel either of us.

  • Anyone who can sign in to your account can read your Writing, including someone who resets your password through your email. Protect your email account with a strong password and two-step verification.

We chose this design so that losing your password doesn't mean losing your reflections.

Our commitments. We will not access or decrypt your Writing except:

  • (a) automatically, to restore your own access when you sign in;

  • (b) at your specific request, for example to help with a support issue;

  • (c) where legally compelled. We will challenge overbroad demands and notify you unless the law prohibits it.

Repairing the key system after a security incident is done without viewing your Writing. Access to key material is restricted to our system administrator and is never used for analytics, research, marketing or AI. [After LC-M: "and every access is logged."]

What is not encrypted with your key. These are protected by encryption in transit and at rest and by database access controls, but not by your personal key:

  • your email address;

  • Assessment data;

  • exercise responses [typed sort items until LC-D];

  • progress and settings;

  • timestamps;

  • usage events;

  • purchase records.

On your devices:

  • iPhone and Android. Your workbook is stored in the app's local database, and your key is kept in the device's secure keychain or keystore.

    • Anyone who can unlock your device and open WAIT may see your workbook.

    • We exclude the app's database from iCloud and Google backups. [LC-N]

    • On iPhone, the key may remain in the keychain after you delete the app, until you reset the device.

  • Web app. Your key and session are kept in your browser's local storage, which is less protected. Sign out on shared computers.

  • Exports. Files you export (Section 8) are not encrypted.

Security incidents. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.

5. Who receives your information

  • Supabase, Inc. (supabase.com), United States: database, authentication and server functions. Receives account and workbook data (Writing only in encrypted form), the encrypted recovery key, usage events (if you turn them on) and technical data.

  • Functional Software, Inc. (Sentry) (sentry.io), United States: crash and error reporting. Receives crash reports, device and app information, and your account ID.

  • PostHog, Inc. (posthog.com), United States: usage analytics, only if you turn on "Help improve WAIT". Receives usage information (Section 2.2) and your account ID.

  • 650 Industries, Inc. (Expo) (expo.dev), United States: delivering app updates. Receives an installation identifier, device and app version, and your IP address.

  • Vercel Inc. (vercel.com), United States and global edge locations: hosting the website and web app. Receives your IP address and browser information.

  • Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.) (resend.com), United States: sending account emails such as password resets. Receives your email address.

  • Google LLC (Google Cloud) (cloud.google.com), United States: relaying Google Play purchase notifications. Receives purchase identifiers and your account ID.

  • Apple Inc. and Google LLC (Google Play), United States and global: app distribution and in-app payments. Receive purchase information and your WAIT account ID.

How these recipients are bound:

  • Apple and Google act as independent controllers under their own privacy policies.

  • Everyone else acts as our processor or service provider. They work under data-processing agreements that allow them to use the data only to provide their services to us and require them to protect it.

When we may also disclose information:

  • When required by law or a valid legal process (see Section 4(c)).

  • To protect someone's life, safety or rights in an emergency.

  • To a successor if the Service is sold or merged. The successor must keep this policy, and we will tell you in advance so you can delete your account first if you wish.

Other sites. The Grounding Toolkit links to third-party crisis resources such as findahelpline.com. We don't send them your information. Their own privacy practices apply.

6. Where your information is stored

Your information is stored and processed in the United States. We are based in the United States, and the providers in Section 5 process data there.

If you live in Canada, your information is transferred to and stored outside Canada and Quebec. While it is in the United States, it is subject to U.S. law and may be accessible to U.S. courts, law enforcement and national security authorities.

We protect it through contracts with our providers that limit how they may use it, through encryption, and through access controls. Before storing information about Quebec residents outside Quebec, we assess whether it will be adequately protected. To learn more about how our providers handle your information, contact info@drleelong.com.

7. How long we keep information

  • Account information, Writing, Assessment data, exercise responses, progress and recovery key: until you delete your account (or withdraw consent, for the workbook data). Removed from live systems at once, and from backups within 30 days.

  • Usage events in our database: 13 months, then deleted automatically [LC-O]; deleted on account deletion.

  • PostHog usage information: 12 months; deleted on account deletion [LC-C].

  • Crash reports (Sentry): 90 days.

  • Server and authentication logs (IP addresses): up to 90 days.

  • Purchase and subscription records: the life of the subscription, plus up to 7 years for tax, accounting and dispute purposes. After account deletion they are kept with the store's transaction identifiers but without your email or WAIT account ID [LC-P].

  • Support messages: 2 years after the conversation ends.

  • Data on a device: until you sign out or delete your account. Other signed-in devices erase their copy the next time they connect [LC-Q]. See Section 4 for the iPhone keychain.

We may keep information longer if the law requires it, or to establish or defend legal claims.

8. Your choices and rights

In the app, at any time:

  • See and correct. View, edit or retake your answers. Email us to correct anything else.

  • Export. Go to Settings → Your privacy → Export my data. You get a copy (JSON) of the workbook data on your device, including your decrypted Writing. For a complete copy of everything we hold about you, email us.

  • Withdraw consent. Go to Settings → Your privacy:

    • turn off "Help improve WAIT" (analytics);

    • turn off group statistics;

    • choose "Withdraw health-data consent". This deletes your Writing, Assessment data, exercise responses and progress from our systems, but you keep your account and subscription and can start again later. [LC-R]

    • Withdrawal doesn't affect processing that has already happened.

  • Turn off reminders. In Settings or in your device settings.

  • Delete your account. Go to Settings → Delete my account and everything in it, or request deletion without the app at drleelong.com/support or by emailing info@drleelong.com. This permanently erases your account and workbook data (see Section 7 for backups).

  • Cancel subscriptions separately. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel it in your store settings, and the app will remind you before you delete.

Your legal rights. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • know what personal information we hold and how we use it, and get a copy;

  • correct it;

  • delete it;

  • receive it in a portable format;

  • restrict how we use it;

  • withdraw consent;

  • opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising and significant profiling (we don't do any of these);

  • limit the use of sensitive information (we use it only for the permitted purposes described above);

  • get a list of the third parties that received your data;

  • appoint an authorized agent, or nominate someone to act for you if you die or become incapacitated;

  • appeal our decision on your request;

  • not be treated differently for exercising your rights;

  • complain to us and to a data protection authority.

How to make a request. Use the in-app tools or email info@drleelong.com from the email address on your account. We verify your identity by confirming you control that address.

We respond within:

  • 30 days in Canada (including Quebec), extendable where the law allows;

  • 45 days in U.S. states, extendable once by 45 days where the law allows. We'll tell you why if we extend;

  • or any shorter period your law requires.

Requests are free. We may decline or charge for requests that are manifestly unfounded or excessive, where the law allows.

Appeals (U.S.). If we decline your request, email info@drleelong.com with the subject "Appeal." We respond within 45 days, or 60 days where your state allows. If you disagree with the outcome, you can contact your state Attorney General.

Complaints. Tell us first at info@drleelong.com. We acknowledge complaints within 30 days and respond without undue delay.

You can also complain to a regulator, for example:

  • the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca);

  • Quebec's Commission d'accès à l'information (cai.gouv.qc.ca);

  • your provincial privacy commissioner, for example in Alberta or British Columbia;

  • in the U.S., your state Attorney General or the Federal Trade Commission (ftc.gov).

Global Privacy Control. Our website honors Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out request. [LC-S] We don't sell or share personal information, or track you across sites, in any case.

9. Children

WAIT is for adults. You must be 18 or older to use it.

  • Age signals. We may receive an age category from Apple or Google. We use it only to confirm eligibility.

  • If we learn someone is under 18. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn we have, we delete the account and its data.

  • To report a minor's account, contact info@drleelong.com.

10. Security

We protect your information with:

  • on-device encryption of your Writing;

  • encryption in transit and at rest;

  • database row-level security, so each account can reach only its own rows;

  • device keychain storage for keys on iPhone and Android;

  • restricted administrative access;

  • data-processing agreements with our providers;

  • a written incident response plan. [LC-M]

You can help by using a strong, unique password, a device passcode, and two-step verification on your email.

11. Regional information

United States

What we collect. In the last 12 months we collected these categories, from the sources and for the purposes in Sections 2–3, and disclosed them to the recipients in Section 5:

  • identifiers (email, account ID, IP address, installation identifier);

  • customer records;

  • commercial information (subscription status);

  • internet or other electronic activity (crash data, and usage information if you opted in);

  • sensitive personal information: account login credentials, and information about mental health and emotional wellbeing (Writing, Assessment data, exercise responses, progress);

  • inferences (your scores).

What we don't do. We do not sell or share personal information and have not done so in the last 12 months. We do not knowingly sell or share information of anyone under 16.

Sensitive information. We process it only with your consent and only to provide the Service you request.

Retention. See Section 7.

Your rights. These apply to all U.S. users, whether or not your state's law applies to us.

AI training. We do not use or disclose personal information to train large language models or other AI models.

For Washington, Nevada and Connecticut health-data rights, see our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.

Canada (including Quebec)

  • We get your express consent for sensitive information, and you can withdraw it at any time (Section 8).

  • Our person in charge of the protection of personal information is Lee Long, Manager (Section 1).

  • Your information is stored outside Quebec and Canada, in the United States (Section 6).

  • WAIT calculates scores that profile aspects of your emotional wellbeing. This is the core function you ask WAIT to perform, described in Section 3. We do not use technology to locate you.

  • If a confidentiality incident creates a risk of serious harm, we will notify you, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada and, for Quebec residents, the Commission d'accès à l'information.

  • [Version française : LINK.]

Where WAIT is offered

WAIT is currently offered only in the United States and Canada, and we don't target users anywhere else. If we expand to other countries, we will update this policy before we do.

12. Changes to this policy

  • Where to find changes. We post updates on this page with a new effective date, and list previous versions at the bottom of this page.

  • Material changes. For example, a new use of sensitive information or a new kind of recipient. We will notify you in the app or by email at least 30 days in advance, and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

  • No retroactive downgrades. We will not apply a less protective practice to information collected under an earlier version without your consent.

Terms of use:

Effective date: October 22, 2026 · Version: 1.0

Welcome to WAIT ("WAIT, Where Are YOU in This?"), a companion app to Dr. Lee R. Long's book and workbook. These Terms of Use (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and Dr. Lee Long LLC, a Texas limited liability company, 2421 West 7th Street, Fort Worth, TX 76107 ("we", "us"). They cover the WAIT apps for iOS and Android, the WAIT web app, and related content and services (the "Service").

Please read Section 2 (WAIT is not therapy or emergency care) and, if you live in the United States, Section 17 (Arbitration). Section 17 requires most disputes to be resolved by individual arbitration rather than in court or by class action, unless you opt out within 30 days.

Our Privacy Policy and Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy explain how we handle your information. They are not part of these Terms, but please read them.

1. Accepting these Terms; who can use WAIT

1.1 You accept these Terms by ticking the acceptance box or tapping "Create account" on a screen that links to them, or, if you already have an account, by accepting them when the app asks you to. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1.2 You must be 18 or older and able to enter into a binding contract. By using WAIT you confirm that you are.

1.3 The Service is for your personal, non-commercial use. Accounts are individual: don't share yours, and keep your password secure. You are responsible for activity under your account unless it happens because of our failure.

2. WAIT is a self-reflection tool, not therapy or emergency care

2.1 WAIT is educational and self-reflective. It guides you through exercises based on Dr. Long's book and workbook. It is not therapy, counseling, psychotherapy, coaching tailored to you, medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it is not a medical device. Using WAIT does not create a therapist–client, doctor–patient or any other professional relationship with Dr. Long or anyone else.

2.2 Scores are for reflection, not diagnosis. WAIT's assessments are self-reported measures designed to help you reflect. They are not clinical or validated diagnostic instruments, and they don't detect, diagnose or rule out any mental health condition. Don't make medical or treatment decisions based on them. Talk to a qualified professional about any concerns, and before starting, stopping or changing any treatment.

2.3 Reflection can bring up difficult feelings. Go at your own pace. You can always pause, skip practices or use the Grounding Toolkit. If an exercise feels overwhelming, stop and reach out to someone you trust or to a professional.

2.4 Not an emergency service. WAIT is a book companion. No one at WAIT reads what you write or monitors how you use the app, so we can't respond if you're in difficulty. If you ever need urgent help, contact your local emergency number or find a helpline at findahelpline.com.

3. Your account and your data

3.1 Your Writing and answers are yours. You keep ownership of everything you write or enter in WAIT ("Your Content"), including your reflections and weekly thread entries ("Writing").

3.2 The limited permission you give us. You allow us, and the service providers listed in our Privacy Policy, to store, encrypt, back up, sync, process and display Your Content solely to provide the Service to you, calculate your results, keep the Service secure, and comply with law. This permission is non-exclusive and royalty-free, and it ends when Your Content is deleted (subject to backup retention described in the Privacy Policy). We will not publish Your Content, sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to train artificial-intelligence models. Your scores are included in internal group statistics only if you turn this on.

3.3 Encryption and recovery. Your reflections and thread entries are encrypted on your device. We keep a protected recovery copy of your encryption key so you can restore access on a new device or after resetting your password. This means we are technically able to decrypt your Writing. How this works, its limits, and the narrow circumstances in which we may access your Writing are described in Section 4 of the Privacy Policy. Anyone who can sign in to your account, including by resetting your password through your email, can read your Writing, so please protect your email account.

3.4 Back up what matters to you. We work hard to keep your data safe and synced. But devices fail, networks drop, and software has bugs, and an edit made on two devices at once may need you to choose which version to keep. We recommend exporting your data from time to time (Settings → Export my data). Exported files are not encrypted, so store them securely.

3.5 Deleting your account permanently erases Your Content from our live systems, as described in the Privacy Policy. This cannot be undone. Export anything you want to keep first.

4. Our content and your licence to use the app

4.1 The Service, including the app, text, exercises, assessments, scoring methods, design, artwork and Dr. Long's book and workbook content, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright, trademark and other laws.

4.2 Subject to these Terms (and, for paid content, an active subscription), we grant you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to download and use the app on devices you own or control, and to access the Service, for your personal, non-commercial use. On Apple devices this licence is also subject to the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms.

4.3 You may not:

  • (a) copy, distribute, sell, publish or create derivative works from WAIT's content, including the exercises, assessments or workbook material, beyond what this licence allows;

  • (b) reverse-engineer, decompile or try to extract source code, except where the law allows despite this restriction;

  • (c) circumvent paywalls, security or access controls, or access another person's account;

  • (d) use bots, scrapers or other automated means to access the Service or its content, including to train AI models;

  • (e) interfere with or overload the Service;

  • (f) use the Service unlawfully or to harm anyone.

4.4 If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.

4.5 We don't review Your Content. If you believe content stored through WAIT is illegal, tell us at info@drleelong.com.

5. Free and paid content

5.1 Free content. Section 1 of the workbook (chapters 1–3, through your first result) is free. It is not a time-limited trial.

5.2 Subscriptions. Sections 2 and 3, the Reckoning, ongoing practice and any future course content require a paid subscription ("Subscription"). Subscriptions are offered monthly and annually. The price, billing period and what's included are shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency, including any taxes the store collects.

5.3 Automatic renewal. Your Subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, at the then-current price, and the payment method on your Apple ID or Google account is charged, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

  • Cancel any time in your device's subscription settings:

    • iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions

    • Android: Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions

  • The app's Settings → Manage subscription links there too.

  • After you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.

  • After you subscribe, we will email you a confirmation of the subscription terms and how to cancel. For annual subscriptions, we will also email you a reminder before each renewal. [LC-T]

  • [If an introductory offer or free trial is ever offered: its length, what you'll be charged when it ends, and when, will be shown before you start. Any unused trial time ends when you buy a Subscription.]

5.4 Price changes. If we change the price of a Subscription, we will email you between 7 and 30 days before the change takes effect, with the new price and how to cancel. Apple or Google will also notify you as their rules require. Where required, the new price won't apply unless you agree to it. If you don't want to pay the new price, you can cancel before it takes effect.

5.5 Billing and refunds are handled by Apple or Google. In-app purchases are made through, billed by, and subject to the terms of the Apple App Store or Google Play. Request refunds from them:

  • Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com

  • Google: Google Play order history

We cannot issue refunds for store purchases ourselves. Unless your local law or the store's policy provides otherwise, payments are non-refundable and partial periods are not refunded. Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights(see 5.6 and Section 12).

5.6 Your statutory rights. Depending on where you live, consumer protection law may give you additional rights to cancel a purchase or get a refund, for example under Quebec's Consumer Protection Act. Nothing in these Terms limits those rights.

5.7 Deleting your account doesn't cancel your subscription. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings to stop being charged. The app will remind you before you delete your account. If you deleted your account while a subscription was still active, contact us at info@drleelong.com and we will help you link it to a new account. Refunds are handled as described in 5.5.

5.8 Restoring purchases. Your Subscription is linked to the WAIT account you were signed in to when you bought it. Use Restore purchases in the app to restore access on a new device.

6. Changes to the Service

6.1 We may update the Service. Updates may install automatically. We may add, change or remove features or content for valid reasons, for example to improve it, fix problems, follow the law, respond to safety concerns, or adapt to changes from Apple, Google or our providers.

6.2 If a change has more than a minor negative effect on your access to or use of what you've paid for, we will tell you by email in advance. You may then end your Subscription free of charge within 30 days of the change. Where the law gives you this right, you may get a pro-rata refund for the remaining paid period: from Google Play directly, or from Apple, which we will support you in requesting.

6.3 We may require you to update the app to keep using it, for example for security reasons.

6.4 We may stop offering the Service. If we do, we will give at least 60 days' notice where reasonably possible, give you time to export your data, and help you obtain a refund of any prepaid period that remains, through Apple or Google, as required by law or the store's policy.

7. Suspension and termination

7.1 You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your account in Settings.

7.2 We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, if we must do so by law, or to protect the Service or other people. We will tell you why and, where reasonable, give you a chance to fix the problem first. Unless the law prohibits it, we will let you export Your Content for at least 30 days after we close your account. We will not suspend or close accounts arbitrarily.

7.3 Sections 3.1, 4.1, 4.3, 4.4 and 9–19 continue to apply after termination.

8. Third-party services

The Service relies on and links to third parties, including Apple, Google, our hosting and analytics providers, and crisis resources. We are not responsible for third-party websites or services we don't control. Your use of them is subject to their terms.

9. Disclaimers

9.1 We provide the Service with reasonable care and skill. To the extent the law allows, the Service is otherwise provided "as is" and "as available". We don't promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that it will achieve any particular personal, emotional or therapeutic outcome, or that your scores will be accurate or meaningful for you.

9.2 To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

9.3 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any warranty, guarantee or right that cannot be excluded or limited by law. See Section 12. For New Jersey residents, Sections 9.2, 10.2 and 11 apply only to the extent permitted by New Jersey law.

10. Limitation of liability

10.1 Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for:

  • death or personal injury caused by our negligence;

  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;

  • gross negligence or willful misconduct;

  • any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.

10.2 Subject to 10.1 and to the extent the law allows:

  • (a) we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill or data that you could have avoided by following our advice to back up your data (Section 3.4);

  • (b) our total liability to you for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of: the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim arose, or US $100.

10.3 Quebec consumers: Sections 10.2(a) and (b) do not apply to you. Other consumers: if the consumer protection law of your province, territory or state does not allow these limits, they apply to you only to the extent that law permits. Statutory consumer rights apply as described in Section 12.

11. Indemnity (U.S. users only)

If you are in the United States, you agree to indemnify us against third-party claims, and related reasonable costs, arising from your intentional misuse of the Service in breach of Section 4.3 or your violation of law. This section does not apply to consumers outside the United States, or anywhere else it would be unenforceable.

12. Your statutory rights; regional terms

12.1 Mandatory consumer law prevails. If you are a consumer, you benefit from the mandatory consumer protection laws of the state, province or territory where you live. Nothing in these Terms takes those protections away.

12.2 Canada. If you live in Canada, the consumer protection laws of your province or territory apply to you. Any part of these Terms that those laws prohibit or make unenforceable does not apply to you, and the rest of these Terms stays in effect.

12.3 Quebec. Provisions that are inconsistent with the Consumer Protection Act (Quebec) do not apply to Quebec consumers. A French version of these Terms is available at [LINK]. If you choose to accept the English version after being given the French version, you confirm that you wish to be bound by it. Si vous choisissez d'accepter la version anglaise après avoir reçu la version française, vous confirmez vouloir être lié par celle-ci. [LC-U]

13. Apple App Store terms

If you downloaded WAIT from the Apple App Store, you and we acknowledge that:

  • (a) these Terms are between you and us only, not Apple, and we, not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and its content;

  • (b) your licence is limited to using the app on Apple-branded products you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms;

  • (c) Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app;

  • (d) if the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, which will refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses from any failure to conform to a warranty are our responsibility, to the extent not effectively disclaimed;

  • (e) we, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or third parties relating to the app or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection, privacy or similar claims;

  • (f) we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging any third-party claim that the app or your use of it infringes that party's intellectual property rights;

  • (g) you represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as "terrorist supporting", and are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties;

  • (h) questions and complaints about the app go to us at the contact details in Section 19;

  • (i) you must comply with applicable third-party terms when using the app;

  • (j) Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

If you downloaded WAIT from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply to your download and purchases.

14. Export and sanctions

You may not use or export the Service in violation of U.S. or other applicable export control or sanctions laws. WAIT is currently offered only in the United States and Canada.

15. Changes to these Terms

15.1 We may change these Terms for valid reasons, such as changes to the Service, the law, regulatory guidance, store requirements or security needs.

15.2 For material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email at least 30 days before they take effect, unless the change is required sooner by law or for security. In that case we will notify you as soon as possible.

15.3 If you don't agree to a change, you may stop using the Service and delete your account before it takes effect. If you have a prepaid Subscription and the change materially disadvantages you, you may cancel and, where the law requires, obtain a pro-rata refund through Apple or Google. If you continue to use the Service after the effective date, you accept the changed Terms.

15.4 Changes never apply retroactively to disputes already notified. Changes to Section 17 are covered by Section 17.10.

16. Governing law and courts

16.1 United States: these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and by the Federal Arbitration Act for Section 17. Any dispute not subject to arbitration will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Tarrant County, Texas, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction.

16.2 Canada: these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, but if you are a consumer you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the province or territory where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that province or territory.

17. Dispute resolution and arbitration (United States only)

This section applies only if you live in the United States. Please read it carefully. It affects your rights.

17.1 Talk to us first. Before starting arbitration or a court case, the person bringing the claim must send a written notice to the other party describing the claim and the relief sought. Notices to us go to info@drleelong.com or the postal address in Section 19; notices to you go to your account email. This requirement applies to both of us. Both parties will try in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for 45 days. Any limitation period is paused during this time.

17.2 Binding individual arbitration. If the dispute isn't resolved, you and we agree to resolve any dispute, claim or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service by binding individual arbitration, except as provided in 17.4.

  • The arbitration will be administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules and, where applicable, its Mass Arbitration Supplementary Rules, as modified by this section (adr.org).

  • A single neutral arbitrator will decide the dispute. The arbitrator may award the same individual relief a court could.

  • The arbitration will be held by video, by phone or on written submissions unless the arbitrator decides an in-person hearing is needed. If there is a hearing, it will be in the county where you live.

17.3 Fees. We will pay all AAA filing, administration and arbitrator fees above the amount you would pay to file a claim in court, unless the arbitrator finds your claim frivolous or brought for an improper purpose. Each party bears its own attorneys' fees unless the law or the arbitrator provides otherwise.

17.4 Exceptions. Either party may:

  • (a) bring an individual claim in small claims court, if it qualifies;

  • (b) seek an injunction in court to stop infringement or misuse of intellectual property.

Nothing in this section prevents you from bringing issues to the attention of government agencies, or prevents you from seeking public injunctive relief in court where the law does not permit it to be waived. Any such claim will be stayed until the individual arbitration is resolved.

17.5 No class actions. You and we each agree to bring claims only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate claims or award class-wide relief.

17.6 Mass filings. If 25 or more similar claims are filed by or with the coordination of the same counsel, the AAA Mass Arbitration Supplementary Rules apply. The parties will work in good faith with the AAA to resolve the claims efficiently and fairly. Nothing in this section will be applied to deny any claimant a timely individual hearing.

17.7 Who decides. The arbitrator decides questions of the interpretation, applicability or enforceability of this section, except that a court decides disputes about Sections 17.5 and 17.9 and about whether a claim falls within 17.4.

17.8 If part of this section is unenforceable. If the class-action waiver in 17.5 is found unenforceable for a claim or form of relief, that claim or relief must be severed and heard in court, after any arbitrable claims are decided. In no case will a class or representative claim go to arbitration. If any other part of this section is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.

17.9 Your right to opt out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement within 30 days of first accepting these Terms by emailing info@drleelong.com with the subject "Arbitration Opt-Out", or by mail to the address in Section 19. Include your name, your account email, and a clear statement that you opt out. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.

17.10 Changes. If we make a material change to this section, you may reject it by emailing us within 30 days of the change. In that case your most recent previously accepted version of this section continues to apply.

18. General

18.1 Entire agreement. These Terms, together with any additional terms shown when you buy a Subscription, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.

18.2 Severability. If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest remains in effect, and the invalid provision is applied to the fullest extent permitted.

18.3 No waiver. If we don't enforce a provision right away, we haven't waived it.

18.4 Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours to a successor that takes over the Service and agrees to these Terms and our Privacy Policy, as long as your rights are not reduced. We will tell you if this happens.

18.5 Events beyond our control. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control. This does not affect your statutory rights, for example to a refund for services not supplied.

18.6 Language. These Terms are written in English. If we provide a translation and there is a conflict, the English version prevails, except where local law requires otherwise.

18.7 Notices. We may send you notices by email to your account address or in the app.

18.8 Third parties. Except for Apple's rights in Section 13, no one other than you and us has any right to enforce these Terms.
